I had great teachers in my life and my best days were spent in school. I want to change lives and create spaces were kids feel safe, seeing and happy coming to school. My aunt was an elementary school teacher in a low income community. Those days when I had the opportunity to go to work with her were the highligths of my days. I fell in love with the books and the smell of crayons and the opportunities given to the children of exploring the world without leaving the classroom.

I teach students with Autism and every day is a memorable experience! When my students go beyond expectations and you know they are learning things that a lot of people don't expect them to. When I can use social emotional lessons to assist a student through a rough experience, that's also memorable.

I will do so many things: the obvious will be paying some debt such as student loans and helping my family. But I will also make sure to set aside an amount to continue investing in my student. For example, providing "angel funds" for those that can't afford a field trip, need clothes or their families are going through a rough path.
