Tell us why you became a teacher

Becoming a teacher was not my first career choice. I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I worked as a legal Assistant for around two years and I was unhappy. My now husband who was a physical education, now science teacher suggested teaching. I started teaching as a middle school Intensive Reading Teacher. It was very difficult work. Everyday felt like an unbearable challenge dealing with behaviors and trying something new to spark some kind of interest in my students.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I think some my most memorable moments which is not a specific one but many different instances of moments with children smiling from kindergarten to middle school grades.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Now being a mom to my nine month baby. I think I would take some time to see my little one grow and see her milestones everyday.
