Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have a love for learning, a desire to inspire, and a heart for making a difference. I have the unique opportunity to directly influence and guide students, shape their future and help them grow as well as making an indelible mark in the community.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was a time when I was given struggling readers. It was a class of twelve. I followed an explicit teaching model every day. One of the twelve students that was labeled as learning disabled was taken off that label and was placed in a regular classroom. His reading levels soared and he made improvements in the rest of his content areas.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Students would most benefit in using the money in a STEAM lab. I would use it to create a STEAM lab in the school.
