The responsibility of the influence and impact I can have on children being with them nearly 40 hours a week is why I love teaching.

Being a teacher was something I wanted to do from a young age. Mainly because I noticed the impact my teachers had on my life. I actually didn’t major in education, but found a long and windy road back to where I knew I belonged, the classroom. The classroom is one of the biggest mission fields I know. I feel so much gratitude that I am granted the opportunity to walk along side these children in their formidable years as they experience all aspects of maturing.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my student’s mother passed away several years ago after a long battle with cancer. As hard as it was, walking through this tragedy with the student and his fellow classmates was a painful yet joyful experience. I watched them rise to a level of maturity and selflessness I had not seen as we all journeyed through this together. It was beautiful experience to help them enter into their friends suffering and walk alongside him.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would either use it to pay for a vehicle or to take an epic family vacation. We have five children and two that are close to moving off to college. It would be so amazing to have the chance to make some memories.
