After completing my undergraduate degree in science, I reflected on where I should take my education and what to do with it. Work in a lab? Join an industry? No. After reflecting on my life, I realized that I felt the most joy when I could inspire children. Teaching is where this inspiring adventure took me!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceAs a student, I remember being known. My teacher made a question in a review game to which only I would know the answer. This has guided my teaching style throughout my life. As a teacher, I remember best the student that perpetually caused trouble and was placed in my class. She had been restricted in her movement during class by most of her teachers - I gave her a chance. The trust I showed her in that moment started a positive reaction that has continued many years past graduation.
What would you do with the $25,000?Breathe and focus. Focus on the things in life on which I wish I could focus - family, friends, travel, innovation. Breathe after gaining some freedom from the stress of debt. These will allow me to better explore and learn and be inspired, leading to a better and more fulfilling life.
