Education has challenged me to become my best self. Every day I get to wake up and change the lives of my students at Washington Elementary.

I became a teacher because I felt it was my true calling in life. Changing and molding the lives of young students is what gives me the ultimate satisfaction when I am teaching. To me, being a teacher means having the ability to impact the lives of not only my classroom students but also all the students around me.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable moment in teaching was winning the district rookie of the year award in my first year in education. The experience of winning this award has shown me how challenging it is to be a successful teacher. While teaching is not for the fame and fortune, I do believe this award helped me to never settle and inspired me to show up everyday to not only teach but impact the students I teach and coach.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would choose to invest in my future. $25,000 would be a life-changing amount for me and would enable me to achieve so much. I aim to obtain a master's degree in administration as my next goal in education. School is a costly and time-consuming endeavor for teachers and if I were to receive the $25,000 dollars I could really move forward in my master process without having to work another job to help afford the commitment it takes to graduate with a master's degree.
