Tell us why you became a teacher

I come from a family full of teachers. I grew up playing teacher! I knew from a young age this was my calling! I became a special education teacher and haven’t blinked at changing areas. It’s my passion. Too many people today complain about the kids, the pay, the admins! Not me! To me it all boils down to one thing! Seeing those kids get so excited when they learn something new! Look at the little things!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have had many over the years it’s hard to pick just one! All my memories are mostly things my students have said’ If I had to pick just one it would be when a former student found me on social media and several years and told me how much I meant to her still.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would take my whole family in nice vacation! Our family has been through so much since September of 2023 we need a little joy. It all began loosing my precious mother in law, then our son, my dad, my brother in law, then my mom! We need a little happy.
