Learn MoreI became a teacher because I have a deep love for my culture and language. I genuinely enjoy shaping the minds of my students while encouraging open-mindedness. Teaching has allowed me to work with many students from diverse backgrounds, and I am excited when they express a desire to learn more about the world we live in. I am fortunate to have taken students who had never traveled abroad to explore different parts of the world.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIn 2005, my level 2 students wrote children's books in Spanish and visited an elementary school to read their stories and play various games in the language. They loved sharing their knowledge with the younger students, and it was wonderful to see them applying what they had learned in class. That year, I had the honor of being the graduation speaker, and the students dedicated the yearbook to me.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the money to improve my students' education, support educational programs in my community in El Salvador, and further my teaching career by attending conferences or taking courses. Additionally, I would like to organize more authentic cultural activities for my Spanish Club.
