Inspiring young adults to embrace learning and working through tough challenges is what I’m meant to do. I want to make a positive impact on the future of our society, even if it starts with just a small group of people.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceStudents were working together on a math problem and I could hear the conversations of one student helping another to solve the problem. It’s nice to have that ah-ha moment when you see the information “clicks” in the students head while you’re teaching, but it’s just as nice to see others helping each other to learn and grow too.
What would you do with the $25,000?Besides paying off some of my school debt, I would use the money to take my family on a vacation. So much of teaching is focused on school, the curriculum, and the kids, that you need to take the time to take care of yourself and your emotional wellbeing— for me that means spending more time with those I love while they’re still around.
