Tell us why you became a teacher

Working in education fell into my lap as a para and I fell in love, applied to a university and I’m gearing up to graduate! This year I landed a dream job and fell in love with teaching more! I believe students need to fall in love with learning at a young age and that is literally my job, to help children love to learn in hopes they learn something along the way! I want to be the teacher that makes children want perfect attendance!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

This is my first year of having a classroom and I accepted a position on a Hutterite colony with English as their second language not knowing I was gaining a second family! Literally, there is something that happens every day within my classroom I’d love to share about!!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I can’t even imagine what this money would do for my family! There are so many things in my life that could utilize it! First, I would throw my classroom kids a party then I would need to think really hard where this money could go to benefit my life the most. I work more than one job and so looking forward to being able to focus on just teaching and my family! It’s hard to come up with on the spot what I would do with it but please know that this much money can be so impactful!
