I believe in the transformative power of education and its ability to break cycles of poverty. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by students from underprivileged backgrounds, and it fueled my desire to make a tangible difference in their lives.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIt was an ordinary day when I was teaching a lesson on fractions, my students engaged and eager to learn, when suddenly, the principal walked in with a bouquet of flowers and a certificate in hand. I was caught completely off guard. For a moment, I thought there had been some mistake. Then, she announced, “Congratulations! You’re our Teacher of the Year!” I was overwhelmed with emotions grateful, humbled, and a bit speechless.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were given $25,000 as a teacher, I would use the funds to enrich the educational experience for my students in meaningful and impactful ways. A portion would go toward purchasing essential classroom supplies things like books, educational games, and technology that would help bridge the gap in resources. Finally, I would set aside funds for professional development, so I could continue growing as an educator and bring innovative teaching strategies back to my students.
