Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to be the change I wanted to see. While I did have some amazing teachers, I had some not so great ones as well. The common thread between the ones that did not mesh well with my learning style was the fact that they did not listen to me. I vowed to be the teacher that ALWAYS listens to her students no matter how trivial the details may be. My kids are comfortable telling me any and every thing and I love it!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience is my Black History Month Projects. Every year I assign a research report on an event that happened in the US that's mostly unknown or the Divine 9 and a person in black history that is mostly unheard of. The kids gripe and complain at first but then they come to me excited with something they learned and it makes me smile EVERY TIME! I love watching them tell their peers what they've learned and they in turn do the same and it's magic unfolding in real time

What would you do with the $25,000?

Down payment on a home first! We need space and I want a place that my children will always be able to come home to. I'm also a crafter who makes some pretty amazing things, so a portion would also go towards my beginning business CredleCrewCre8tions. My items are handcrafted from the Heart ❤️.
