Tell us why you became a teacher

I've wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember! I loved kindergarten and would come home to “play school,” making my little brother be my student. Teaching is my dream because I love working with kids and helping them discover new things. Seeing their confidence grow as they master a new skill is the best feeling! Every day is full of curiosity, creativity, and laughter, and I feel so lucky to do what I love—helping kids learn and succeed!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was when a struggling reader in my class, a sweet and determined girl, finally read a full book on her own. She had been working so hard, never giving up, and the day she finished, her face lit up with pure joy. The whole class cheered, and she beamed with pride! It was a beautiful reminder of why I love teaching—helping kids build confidence and believe in themselves. Moments like that make every challenge worth it!

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I’d be over the moon! First, I’d plan a fun family trip. Then, I’d treat myself to a getaway—maybe finally see those Michigan waterfalls! I’d also invest in my health with a home gym. And of course, I’d splurge on my classroom—new books, flexible seating, and fun learning tools for my amazing students! I’d save some too, but wow, what a dream!
