I am meant to be a teacher. I teach 3rd graders in North Pole Alaska. Teaching to me isn’t a job, but a calling for me.

Learn MoreI became a teacher because it is my calling. I love working with children. It is amazing when I get to see a student have an “aha” moment.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching moment is when I taught the process a bill goes through to become a law to third, fourth, and fifth graders in a village school. They made laws for our classroom going through each step.
What would you do with the $25,000?This is the first time since coming to Alaska that I’ve not had housing provided through the school district I was in. I do not have much furniture, so I would get some for my apartment. I would put some of it into my classroom for next year since I am teaching a new grade level next year. The rest would go into savings.
