Learn MoreI became a teacher because I wanted to be the type of teacher that I would have wanted and that I needed growing up as someone who grew up Latino and in poverty. I know all too well the struggles that my own students face and for that I am so grateful that I get to be an example of what they can aspire to be when they are older. I am also proud that I get to be a positive male role model for my students every single day, especially as a primary grade level teacher who teaches Kindergarten!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience is not one that I can specifically call upon since for me, memorable teaching experiences happen every single day. I get to be part of my students lives in a meaningful way daily in kindergarten and so for that, I am blessed. I am the grade that gives them their FIRST experience in public education! My passion is being able to teach them that learning is FUN & EXCITING! I love each and every one of my students. & Once a Froggy Always a Froggy🐸🙏🏼🥰
What would you do with the $25,000?I would spend the money by taking my 86 year old Abuelita Rosa on a trip to visit her sister that lives in Cuba who she has not seen in 43 years sadly! ALSO As someone who is Latino with a diverse family I would use the money to support one of my family members to gain their documents as a US citizen. ALSO I would splurge on my students in a very special way by buying them all amazing end of year gifts! LASTLY I would love to make a generous donation to St. Jude or Compassion International🙏🏼💙
