I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in kids’ lives. Seeing that moment when something clicks for a student is the best feeling. I love helping kids grow, not just in academics but in confidence too. Teaching isn’t always easy, but knowing I can be a positive part of their journey makes it all worth it.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching moments was when I handed out a reading assignment—only to realize the questions had nothing to do with the passage. I had copied the wrong set! Of course, it just so happened to be April 1st, so I did what any quick-thinking teacher would do—I played it off as an April Fool’s prank! The kids were so confused at first, but once I admitted the mix-up, we all had a good laugh.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d spend it on my classroom—because let’s be real, I already do! But I’d also finally take my kids on a real vacation. They’re getting older, and we’ve never had that experience together. A little for my students, a little for my family—the perfect balance!
