I graduated college with a degree in PR, but a volunteer experience at a low-income school changed my path. Volunteering to read and teach students at a low-income school after work using quality picture books sparked a deep passion for education. I realized I had found my calling and decided to pursue a degree in education. My goal is to share my love of learning and to support students who need it most, making a difference in their lives and fostering a lifelong love of knowledge.

I’m fortunate to be the teacher liaison of Project Third Day, an organization that assists food insecurity and material support for local children. I purchase pillows and blankets each fall for students in need. My favorite moment is witnessing their joy at school as they clutch their new items and ask, “Is this all mine?” These moments keep me grounded, reminding me of the continued love that I strive to provide for these kids as a teacher. It’s a privilege to make a difference in their lives.

If I won, I would start by creating a scholarship to help children in our region attend the summer Crossing Camp. I'd then invest in my passion for sea turtle conservation, expanding my knowledge to protect declining turtle populations and coral reefs. I teach my students about these creatures, and I’m eager to deepen my understanding, especially through experiencing the Arribada. Lastly, I would invest a portion of the money for my family’s future, ensuring their long-term security.
