Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I admired the impact my children’s teachers had on their lives. Their dedication inspired me to make a difference for students of my own. I love seeing their growth, both academically and personally, and guiding them toward success. As a teenager, I didn’t always have that kind of support, so I strive to be the teacher I once needed—someone who encourages, challenges, and believes in every student’s potential. Teaching allows me to shape futures and inspire change.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Seeing my students grow from freshmen to confident young adults advocating for graduation stoles was incredible. They developed professional presentations, built their voices, and took ownership of their ideas. Watching them accomplish this, seeing their hard work and dedication pay off, is what teaching is all about. It’s moments like these—when students realize their potential and step into leadership—that remind me why I love being an educator.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received $25,000, I would donate a portion to my students and classroom, ensuring they have resources and opportunities to grow. Investing in their success is a priority. With the rest, I would likely use some to pay bills and ease financial burdens while also saving for the future. This balance would allow me to support both my students’ development and my own financial well-being, ensuring I can continue making a meaningful impact as an educator.
