I started college chasing money, convinced computer science was my future—until I realized I felt nothing but dread. When asked what I loved in high school, I thought of my English teacher—the way she made learning come alive. That moment changed everything. I switched majors, not knowing I was stepping into my true purpose. Sometimes, life knows where we belong before we do. Now, I strive to be the kind of teacher who helps students find their path—just like one teacher once did for me.

My most memorable moments aren’t in the classroom—they happen when former students return after graduation. Seeing them thriving, hearing their stories, and knowing I played a small part in their journey is the greatest reward. But what means even more is when they still come back—not just to share success, but for guidance, reassurance, or just to talk. Knowing I’m still that person they trust reminds me that teaching isn’t just about lessons; it’s about lasting impact.

If I won $25,000, I’d use part of it to create a scholarship for a graduating student pursuing education—giving back to the future of teaching. The rest? I’d celebrate! My family supports me every step of the way, so I’d take them out to enjoy this incredible moment together. Teaching is about impact, and this win wouldn’t just be mine—it would be for my students, my family, and the belief that education changes lives.
