Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I saw what an impact it has on kids lives. My parents and aunt were both teachers. I wanted to make learning fun, and interesting for everyone. I wanted to help kids learn how to be proud of their hard work and perseverance. I want them to know they are loved, special and someone always has their back and have their best interests at heart.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience is having one of my kindergarten students graduated from high school, volunteering in my class and then getting their first job as a one on one para in my classroom. All because we continued our relationship way past kindergarten. That is what teaching is all about the relational impact you can have on others.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would pay off my debt!
