Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was with a student almost everyone had given up on. He had severe behavior issues, wouldn’t listen, and struggled academically. Many saw him as just a troublemaker, but I saw a child in need of love, patience, and consistency. With perseverance, I built trust, and slowly, he began to thrive. His behavior improved, and his academics followed. Watching him succeed proved that every child can learn when given the right support.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I win, I want to use the $25,000 to create something meaningful in dedication to my late 16-year-old son, who tragically passed away. Whether it’s a scholarship, a community program, or a special project that reflects his passions, I want to honor his memory by giving back and making a difference in the lives of students. This would be a way to turn my pain into purpose and ensure his legacy continues to inspire others.
