After working as an assistant in a Special education classroom, I realized I have a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of our students, providing support and creating an inclusive learning environment for our Sped students. Although stressful and underpaid, teaching is a rewarding career for those who are passionate, empathetic, and dedicated to advocating for the educational rights of ALL students.

Working with children on the spectrum and/or emotionally disturbed, I have way too many memorable and heart warming moments. Some of those include; my most aggressive student crying on his birthday when we had a class party for him because he's never had a party before, or one of my students jumping up to protect my pregnant belly while another student was having a difficult time, or a previous student of mine crying and going up to the principal asking her to let him come back to my class.
