I became a teacher because I’ve always loved helping others learn. Growing up, my immigrant parents worked tirelessly to provide a better future, leaving me to tutor my siblings as their teacher, mentor, and third parent. I also tutored friends in high school, which deepened my passion for education. Seeing students grow and have that “light bulb” moment is the most fulfilling experience. I first pursued music education but later transitioned to math and science in NYC, then back to Texas!

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was with my science club when we got to interview a NASA engineer. Seeing my students ask deep, meaningful questions and engage with real-world science was incredible. Another part of this experience was transforming a classroom into a blacked-out indoor planetarium, where students showcased their projects under the "stars." Watching their excitement and curiosity come to life reminded me why I love teaching—igniting passion & wonder in young minds.

If I received $25,000, I would invest in my classroom to create an engaging learning environment for my students. I would also help my mother get back into a home after we lost ours years ago—something that means the world to me. A portion would go toward saving and investing for my future. Lastly, I would take a dream trip overseas, experiencing new cultures for the first time! This opportunity would allow me to give back, grow, and create lasting memories.
