Tell us why you became a teacher

To be a role model for the students who may not have a father figure in their life. I wanted to be that person the student can come to when they feel like they have nothing. I want to see them grow academically as well as reaching their personal goals.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I had the privilege of working with a student with autism in a school that didn’t fully understand his needs. As an African American student, he faced additional challenges. By working closely with his mother, we found strategies to support him. With patience and understanding, he went from receiving zeroes to earning 100% on assignments. It was a rewarding experience that showed me the power of personalized support, compassion, and collaboration with families to help a student thrive.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to build a future with my Fiancé—getting married, purchasing our first home, and starting a family. Creating a stable and loving environment is my priority. Additionally, I would donate a portion to a domestic violence shelter where I volunteer, helping others find safety and support. This money would not only secure my future but also allow me to give back to those in need and make a positive impact on my community.
