Tell us why you became a teacher

In their tiny hands and minds their worlds are a vast open field of flowers. A teacher has the ability to make that field grow (or wither) with knowledge but most importantly with love, confidence, empowerment, trust, and unlimited encouragement that field of flowers becomes their field of dreams. I became a teacher to help children see their full potential and reach for the stars. My students are the future and I get to be apart of that.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have so many success stories about my students but my most memorable teaching experience would be with one of my students Ariyon. He was my student last year. I became quite close to this little man. He was the class clown who loved to talk no matter where you sat him or who you sat him next to. At times he would get into trouble but he really did change his behavior by the end of the year through constant love. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer in July and I will never stop loving him.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would 💯 pay off my student loans. I wish I could say I would give it away but I owe $24,000 in student loans and I would pay them off.
