Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I always played school with my siblings. I loved it. I helped them since my parents couldn’t because they worked so much. This transferred into my adulthood. I enjoy helping children and families with the educational process. It is rewarding and inspirational .

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Being in education for thirty-six years there are so many. I would have to say the the most memorable moments for me are two fold, when children crack the reading code and fly. To see this is so rewarding and genuine. The other instance is when a reluctant child makes a friend. Sometimes with encouragement this child blossoms and extends himself or herself to socially engagement.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would to say I would spend it the 25K all on the children but I do spend a good deal of my own money on school items. Once I get caught up, I would like to get a cricket machine for school projects and more leveled library books. Of course, I would love to get something for the children to take home as well.
