I became a teacher because I’ve always loved rooting for the underdog and watching them rise above challenges. One moment that solidified this passion was when I tutored a student who had been written off by previous tutors. While others saw his weaknesses as obstacles, I saw them as opportunities for growth. By focusing on his potential and strengths, he was able to achieve great things. That experience inspired me to do the same for every student I encounter—to nurture their greatness!

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was in 3rd grade when I focused on creating classroom transformations that immersed students in learning. Instead of prioritizing test scores, I aimed to instill a genuine love for learning. At the end of the year, my principal informed me that my class had the highest state test scores, and many students were placed in advanced math classes. This experience showed me the power of creative teaching and the impact of believing in students’ potential.

With $25,000, I would create a one-of-a-kind STEAM center that immerses students in hands-on, real-world learning experiences designed to spark a lifelong love for discovery and instill hope. Unlike traditional spaces, this center would focus on unlocking each student’s unique potential, helping them connect their passions to meaningful opportunities. By providing transformative experiences that bridge school and the real world, this center would stand as a symbol of hope for a brighter future.
