Tell us why you became a teacher

I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I experienced great teachers growing up. I thought to myself, this is what I want to do and have other young kids feel the same way I did. I want to give young kids a purpose in life.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable experience in my teaching career is when I took over mid year in a emotional disturbance classroom. These students were given up on and did not value education or learning. By the end of the year they were all integrated in a general education classroom and thriving.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would definitely give back to my community so all kids have the opportunity to learn and grow not only in the education system but their community as well.
