Growing up in Memphis, Tn and seeing violence touch my school, I wanted to be able to provide a safe place for kids. My goal is to help them secure their dreams while feeling valued, supported, and safe.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceGetting a picture from one of my former ESL students of her first paycheck and her job application in English. She had come here from Mexico at the age of 16, knowing very little English. Her goal was to be able to support herself and her family. That was a very inspiring moment.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would be able to help my mom with her medical bills and also create a scholarship for an ESL student to continue pursuing their dreams La. The goal is to help inspire them and teach them necessary life skills to succeed not just survive.
