Tell us why you became a teacher

I love helping, serving, and guiding students. In third grade I had an incredible teacher who truly inspired me. Teaching also runs in my family - both my grandmother and my dad were educators. I've always enjoyed explaining concepts and seeing students grasp new ideas. More than anything I love inspiring them to grow both academically and mentally. I concluded by saying: "I would never change what I do best: Teach. It is truly a full-filled experience of 27 years. I am Thankful".

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

As a Multilingual second grade-teacher, I teach English to bilingual Spanish-speakers students. One of the most rewarding moments is when my students begin reading and communicating in English. It reassures me that our team is making a difference, helping them acquire and develop language skills. Beyond math and reading, teaching is about shaping responsible, kind, and successful individuals. Seeing my students grow in knowledge and character makes this journey unforgettable.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would donate a portion to children's cancer hospital and help pay off students' loan for both of my children and myself. I would also assist my brother, who has mental challenges, by helping him paying bills. Additional, I would take my mother, who has Alzheimer's , on a trip- though not by plane as she can't travel that way. I would also take my second mother on a trip. Lastly, I would contribute to my school to help purchase educational materials. Thank you - Gracias
