I became a teacher to help in the world. I got inspired to become a teacher from my high school teacher and coach, Coach Loui Chapman. She was such an inspiration to me; from being my FCA sponsor, to being my math teacher, and then being my coach. Anything and everything I could ever ask a teacher to be she was. A friend to talk to and get advice from, a mentor to learn from and look up to and just being a wonderful christian and teaching me right from wrong and looking at things certain ways.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment would be when I was teaching about writing checks and the whole class just could not remember how to do it, or remember where things went. So we together as a class went over and over again and FINALLY the light bulb went off and I could see it in their eyes that they understood and then they started showing me different ways to write checks. It was wonderful.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use it to finish paying off schooling, and use it to help my family that has always been there for me supporting my every dream to becoming a teacher and coach.
