I actually was going to school to become a counselor for children. I didn’t want to have debt when I got out of college so I started teaching. Once I recieved my master’s in Clinical and Mental Health counseling, I realized I didn’t want to quit teaching because I had fallen in love with teaching instead.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable experiences in the classroom occur when my students and I get to dress up and do classroom transformations. My favorite one of all is “surgery day” during our conversion unit in math! The students get to dress up like tiny doctors and solve math problems and they have so much fun! I love to watch the fun unfold!
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won the $25,000 I would give $5,000 back to my church to grow their children’s youth ministry programs. The rest would go towards providing experiences and special moments with my kids in my classroom such as taking them to meet authors of their favorite books, and going to places around the world that they may otherwise not get to experience.
