I love making a difference in a student’s life. I love the relationships I make and that I get to serve them day in and day out.

I became a teacher mostly because I saw what an impact my mom who is a teacher made on all of her students. I also have a deep love and passion for history and for teaching it to students. I think knowing and understanding History is one of the greatest gifts we can give the next generation. Along with the confidence that they can go and pursue their dreams in whatever they set their mind too. I think teachers have the privilege of having a job that shapes kids into kind and well-rounded people.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThis isn’t just one experience, but every time I am teaching a lesson and someone asks a question and wants to know more. Or whenever I tell them a historical fact and their mind is blown. I love to see the look of wonder on their faces and being able to help them understand what is important, even hundreds of years later.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use it to complete the rest of my graduate school degree that I am getting for a Masters in History. I would also use it to buy things for my students that they may need (like coats or shoes).
