Register NowI’ve wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in elementary school, pretending to have my own classroom with my younger brother as my student. My mom, a special education teacher, inspired me to follow her path. I still remember the teachers who made learning fun and engaging, even when it was difficult for me. I want to be that teacher for my future students—one who inspires them, makes learning enjoyable, and helps them succeed.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was early in my career. I had a student who struggled and missed a lot of school, but he always kept a positive attitude. We created a secret handshake that we shared every day. Four years later, I ran into him at the grocery store. He excitedly ran up to me and instantly remembered our handshake. That moment reminded me how meaningful connections can last, even long after the classroom.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won, I would be incredibly grateful to all my friends and family who helped support me to get to this point. I would use the money to help pay off student loans, and contribute towards my masters degree and help with the cost of my wedding.
