I was given full scholarship as class salutatorian since my parents cannot afford to send me to college and the available course/slot is for education, so I grabbed it and since science was my favorite subject I fully embraced and love the teaching career since 1997. The training that was provided in our school gives much emphasis on developing the passion of teaching as we value education that is dynamic, evolving, and developing from the womb to the tomb.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

The most memorable teaching experience I have had was when my students came back to see me and proud of their achievements recalling the learning experiences I shared with them. It resonates to me the most when I unlearn, relearn, and continuously strive to be relevant to my students so they will be bored on the topic that we are having in the class. I am truly amazed how I learn the dynamics of teaching from the chalk board that we used to have up to the state-of-the art technology at present.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would probably use it to enroll in the University to gain more knowledge about the current trends in education to be able to better my skills in teaching, to keep abreast and be relevant in responding to the learning needs of my students. As an international teacher myself I would probably donate some amount to the school in the Philippines where I came from like my former classroom that does not have even projector or Smartboard maybe I will improve and adopt the classroom that I use before.
