I’ve taught many grade levels, but I love teaching middle school math, bantering with students, and being able to share about God and life.

Learn MoreGrowing up, I always played pretend school with my brother. In all of my classes as a student, I loved helping other students when they needed extra help. I also love children and am passionate about math, so all of these reasons made me want to teach and help others learn. I also love sharing Christ with others and teaching at the same school as my kids. I enjoy having my daughter in my math class throughout middle school!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceSix days into my first year at Lafayette Christian, my two-year-old son died after a tragic accident. Some students showed love and support by designing and selling “Love for Logan” bracelets, using the name from our Facebook page for Logan. I was shocked that 4th graders, after just knowing me for a short period of time, thought of this. The bracelet is on my right wrist in my profile photo. In class, I enjoy helping students discover math formulas - how and why they work.
What would you do with the $25,000?Since classroom lights and sunlight produce glares, I’d buy a matte whiteboard for my classroom. I would also like to plan a field trip bowling and playing other games where we could create box plots, dot plots, and histograms using our game stats/scores. We could even go to a grocery store and compare unit rates as we buy items to plan and carry out a class party. I'd donate toward our school's remodeling/building project. I'd also like to build a small garage for my daughter's vehicle.
