Learn MoreI was working at Headstart when I realized that teaching is what I wanted to do with my life. I love working with kids and teaching them new things.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThe most memorable experience happened this year when one of my students who has always struggled to read and is in 6th grade this year told me that she had read over 1000 minutes over the summer. Her mom added that she loves to read now. This student had never read on grade level before, but she is now and her comprehension is on target. That's why I teach.
What would you do with the $25,000?I spend over $500 a year on things for my classroom and my lessons. This money will help me buy the things I can't afford that will help my students learn. For example, I would love to to be able to buy more decodable books for my dyslexic kids and attend more Orton Gillingham trainings. The more professional development the better.
