In my 30th year of teaching, Monday is STILL my favorite day of the week. I love how seventh graders teach me something every single day.

I am innately a teacher at heart. I wanted to become a teacher so that I could make a difference in children’s lives, especially the ones who didn’t want to be in school. I want children to feel loved, and that they matter, especially in middle school and their quirkiness. The students fill my cup!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThis is a VERY difficult question because there are SO many. But one of my fondest is when I brought 49 of my seventh graders on an overnight field trip to NYC. Most of them had never left our small town and they were in awe! In fact, one student said while on the bus, “ I just saw an ambulance and a firetruck at the same time”. Some students have probably not left our small town since then.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would paint my house, buy candy for my lucky bucket in my classroom, take a trip to see my daughter in college. Bring my son to a play on Broadway.
