Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I love helping others to learn! I love teaching special education because it is a challenge to find the right educational path for each student to fill the gaps an help them progress and succeed. The aha moments are the best feeling for both the student and myself! I couldn't imagine myself teaching anyone else.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Besides all the aha moments is watching my first group of students graduate. It was especially memorable because one of my students worked hard and exited special education altogether. It was a proud moment for him, his parents and me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would payoff the last of my student loans, buy supplies for my classroom, pay off my credit card and save the rest. I might even take my husband on a fishing trip. He is my rock and biggest supporter and he deserves it.
