Teaching diverse groups of primary students is so impactful and shaping their foundational years in education brings me so much joy.

I became a teacher because I truly love working with children and helping them learn foundational skills. My late grandfather was also an educator and had a huge impact in shaping who I am today. He passed away a few months ago, but I am grateful he immigrated to the US to give us a better life and understand the value and power of education. Knowledge is the key to success and a life long love for learning is something I wanted to share with my students.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy school district recently implemented a full inclusion model. The first few months were challenging as a general education teacher, but it was amazing to see the growth and progress students made in such a short period of time. My students are so kind, empathetic, supportive, and inclusive of all students with diverse learning needs. This model has taught me so much as an educator and human being. Inclusive practices are so beneficial and important. ❤️
What would you do with the $25,000?I would pay off the remainder of my student debt from my undergrad and graduate degree programs. I would love to pursue a doctorate program and purchase more diverse books for my classroom, STEM materials, flexible seating, and sensory items to support students with diverse learning needs.
