I love teaching because I get to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and create a classroom where every student feels valued and capable.

I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. I loved playing “school” with my sister and helping my teachers in class. I admired how they made everyone feel welcome, and I dreamed of creating that same environment where all students feel included, safe, and excited to learn.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable moments was helping a student who lacked confidence. I celebrated every success, made her feel valued, and showed her she belonged. This year, she was accepted into the Teaching Fellows Program and credited me in her essay as her inspiration. Knowing I helped shape her journey is an honor I’ll never forget.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d organize a tree-planting project to teach environmental stewardship, invest in science materials and classroom technology, and create a sensory space for students to regulate and refocus. I’d also expand our school’s recycling program and sustainability efforts. This money would make a lasting impact on my students and the environment.
