It's trite, but I became a teacher to make a difference. I trailblazed a double major in PE and Special Education in order to meet kids where they are and move upwards from there.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere are so many. I took a Special Olympics Unified volleyball team to play in the US Open. I managed to raise enough money to take them to Walt Disney World. At the end of the day, one of my players turned to me with tears in his eyes and said "I could die today and be happy, because this is the most amazing day I have ever had!"
What would you do with the $25,000?I am close to my fourth retirement, so I would like to travel. I would also put some into a trust for my three grandchildren that they can use for their educations.
