I became a teacher because of my mother. She was such a nurturer and I loved how children would gravitate towards her. She taught me how to love myself and to put my heart and soul into my children. As a result of that, I have been relentless about teaching and providing my students with the necessary tools to succeed.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of the most memorable moments that stand out is when I was elected as the first special education teacher of the year at my school. It was so humbling.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would purchase new whiteboards, markers and books for my students and teachers at Hillcrest Elementary School.
