Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to inspire young people to embrace a lifelong love of learning.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was with a special education student that I had all through elementary school. He had to have brain surgery early on in life and was not expected to be able to overcome many hurdles. As the years went on, I saw him thrive and develop into a wonderful student. He is now a freshman in high school and told me he is no longer on an IEP and is taking advanced placement classes. He thanked me for always believing in him.

What would you do with the $25,000?

if I were to win the $25,000, I would donate a portion of that to my school to develop a sensory classroom for my special education students. That is something we are lacking in the school that I feel that my students would greatly benefit from. I would take the remainder of that money and pay off some bills that I have accrued as a single mother over the years.
