I believe that young people have incredible creativity, critical thinking skills, & abilities that adults often overlook or don’t take seriously. I want to be a part of empowering future generations to create the changes they see necessary in our world.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThe most memorable moment of teaching for me was working in a moderate to severe class setting with three high school students that had high academic and speech needs. One student who was not quite nonverbal but extremely limited with speech. At the end of the year getting to witness him present in front of his peers and parents, for the first time ever and use the most language I’ve ever witness. It was so powerful and beautiful to see his growth and celebrate his tenacity and dedication.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’m currently seeking a masters degree in Restorative Justice leadership and facilitation. I would like to use any money awarded to help with the tuition and in addition , pilot a workshop workshop/program within my school to bring these practices to our community.
