Honestly, I fell into teaching. I went back to school as a young adult and I wasn't sure what path I wanted my academic career to go in. I took a few early childhood education classes and realized I wanted to learn more. I know early childhood education is mostly viewed as "babysitting," but after being in the field for over 25 years and receiving both my bachelor's and Master's degree, I know I am doing my lifes passion. I work with toddlers with special needs and I absolutely love everyday.

I have so many favorites, but a simple one is recently setting up different colored paints and putting a bouquet of hydrengas in the middle of the classroom table. One of our toddlers, who had never painted before (she was not drawn to any sensory experiences) walked over, sat down and stared at the flowers. She began to add colors to her paper and continued for about five minutes. This was an amazing five minutes! I still feel that feeling of her joy!

I would fix a few things around my home that I have not been able to fix with my preschool salary. But honestly, I would try to invest most of it to help with my retirement funds for my future.
