I also became a teacher because being a teacher allows me to; act, sing, jump, dance, perform experiments, ask deep probing, inquisitive questions, be silly, be serious, be sensitive, be loud, be soft, be outdoors, be smart, make mistakes, try new things, learn so much new stuff and reach the precious and delicate psyche of young people.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceSo many - I had a tough class; we were learning about the digestive and excretory systems. They weren't really into it. On the fly, I made up a rap about kidneys and urine and waste and all the sudden; I had them. They were into it. Having fun. Laughing at me and learning without meaning to.
What would you do with the $25,000?Celebrate with my family. Then use the rest of the money to start a blue economy and sustainability lab space in our school.
