Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to make a lasting impact on students' lives. Education is a powerful tool for change, and I wanted to be part of that transformation. Growing up, I had teachers who believed in me, challenged me, and nurtured my potential. Their influence inspired me to do the same for future generations. Teaching allows me to instill confidence, critical thinking, and a passion for lifelong learning in my students

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was mentoring a struggling student who initially lacked confidence in math. Through personalized support and encouragement, I watched this student go from hesitant participation to proudly leading a class discussion. The moment they solved a complex problem on the board—without hesitation—was a testament to perseverance and the power of belief. Moments like these reaffirm why I dedicate myself to education.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded $25,000, I would use the funds to complete my doctoral degree in educational leadership. Education has always been my priority, and earning this degree will allow me to create meaningful change at a larger scale—improving school policies, advocating for equitable learning opportunities, and mentoring future educators. Investing in my education is an investment in the students and communities I serve, ensuring that every child has access to high-quality instruction and support.
