I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in kindergarten. I am now 34. I felt very led by God that this was my soul’s purpose and passion. My heart has always been helping people, and I choose to see each individual student and their particular needs. Social, emotional, and community building within my classroom has helped me to achieve my dream over the last 10 years. Telling each and every student, “I am thankful for you”.

My most memorable teaching experiences are when my students carry on life lessons home, and to their following grades. I teach at a K-8 school and started teaching 1st grade. Many of my students have now graduated and are in the older grades. They now say, “I’m thankful for you.” to me, and others around them. Knowing that I have made children more empathetic and emotionally equipped humans is my biggest success. My students truly enjoying my class, and not wanting to stop learning with me.

If I received the $25,000 I would use it to pay off the rest of my debt, and save towards a successful future. I am single and live alone in Colorado, so $25,000 would be an extraordinary blessing that would help me not have to stress from month to month on my teaching salary, and debts that I would like to pay off, so I can continue leading by example.
