I became a teacher because I had a horrible experience in 3rd grade. My teacher made me feel incapable, unintelligent and so very small. I had to stay in from recess most every day to redo math problems or to copy sentences and drawings from textbooks. I knew that I wanted to teach to ensure that no students under my care would ever feel that way.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have had the blessing to travel internationally with students and watch them aim to communicate in Spanish. This always makes my heart sing. Seeing them use the skills I have instilled in them is simply beautiful and heartwarming.
What would you do with the $25,000?I have a mountain of debts to pay off and I would love to take a family vacation. I am also hoping to use some of the funds to pay for more professional development as a Spanish teacher.
